Amid the ongoing security escalation in southern Lebanon, the Union of Relief and Development Associations (URDA) organized a community iftar on Monday, March 10, 2025, in the Palestinian border town of Al-Wazzani. The event catered to approximately 400 residents, as part of URDA’s continued support for those affected by the current crisis.
This iftar took place against the backdrop of destruction left by the Israeli war on Lebanon, bringing together families around tables of mercy—a scene that blended both hope and sorrow. Despite the harsh reality, the gathering stood as a message of resilience and life, reaffirming that URDA’s mission does not stop here. The organization will continue holding collective iftar events across Lebanon, particularly in the south, to support affected families and help strengthen their perseverance.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Al-Wazzani, Ahmad Al-Mohammad, who praised the efforts of URDA’s team and volunteers, commending their generosity and humanitarian spirit in the face of the region’s ongoing challenges.
More than 100 children also participated in recreational activities, including inflatable games, as part of an initiative aimed at providing psychological support to children amid the prevailing tensions.
This initiative is part of a series of relief efforts carried out by URDA to support the most affected border villages, including Kafr Shuba, Ain Arab, and Wadi Al-Khiam. URDA’s relief sector continues to provide humanitarian assistance to reinforce the resilience of residents facing these extraordinary circumstances.
