Despite the devastation caused by recent Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, around 400 fasting individuals gathered on the evening of Monday, March 17, 2025, in the heart of the border town of Kfarchouba for a communal Ramadan Iftar organized by the Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA). More than 100 children participated in the event, which went beyond food relief to serve as a space for psychological and social support for the affected community.

Amid the ruins and remnants of bombardment, life briefly returned to the town as laughter filled the Iftar venue, with children enjoying inflatable games and entertainment activities—an effort to bring them moments of joy amid ongoing hardships. Over 20 volunteers contributed to organizing the event, ensuring a special Ramadan experience that rekindled a sense of normalcy for residents who have endured continued instability.

The Iftar received extensive media coverage, with major outlets such as Al Jazeera and Anadolu Agency present to document this scene of resilience in the face of adversity.
This gathering is part of a series of initiatives led by URDA to support affected areas. Just last week, a similar Ramadan Iftar was held in the border town of Al-Wazzani, defying the challenging security conditions. URDA reaffirms its commitment to carrying out humanitarian initiatives that combine relief assistance with psychological support, as the situation grows increasingly complex each day.
