In a scene that embodies the values of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, the Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA) organized a large-scale Ramadan Iftar on the evening of Wednesday, March 27, 2025, in the southern town of Marjeyoun. The event brought together a diverse gathering of residents from the town and surrounding areas, representing various religious and social backgrounds, alongside prominent social, religious, and media figures.

Amidst the warmth of Ramadan, over 400 fasting individuals gathered around the communal Iftar table—not just to share a meal, but to reinforce a message of unity and resilience in the face of ongoing challenges in the border region. The event featured cultural and artistic programs celebrating coexistence, including welcoming speeches and traditional performances that highlighted the values of solidarity and social harmony.

The Iftar also attracted significant media attention, with both local and international outlets covering this powerful display of social cohesion despite the region’s complex security and political circumstances. Additionally, dozens of volunteers contributed to organizing the event, reaffirming the humanitarian role in supporting affected communities and restoring hope among residents.

This Iftar is part of URDA’s series of Ramadan initiatives across Lebanon, aiming to provide relief and psychological support while fostering bonds of love and cooperation among people, especially in the face of growing economic and social challenges.
