High-Level Visit to URDA Shelter in Saida Commends Humanitarian Response and Strengthens International Partnership

    On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA) welcomed a high-level delegation to its shelter school in Saida. The delegation included H.E. Chen ChuanDong, Ambassador of China in Lebanon, and Ms. Karolina Lindholm Billing, UNHCR Representative in Lebanon. The visit aimed to assess the living conditions of displaced families and review the humanitarian services provided to them.

During the tour, the delegation observed the center’s operations, including shelter services, healthcare support, and social care initiatives, as well as ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment that preserves the dignity of the displaced and meets their essential needs amid Lebanon’s current challenges.

The delegation praised the organizational and humanitarian standards upheld by URDA’s team, highlighting the organization’s vital role in responding swiftly to growing needs and alleviating the suffering of affected families despite field challenges.

URDA emphasized that the visit represents an important source of moral support and reflects the significance of strengthening international cooperation in addressing humanitarian crises. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its humanitarian mission in line with the highest standards, ensuring the protection of human dignity and the provision of comprehensive support to the most vulnerable groups.
