Akkar: The Protection Sector’s Stop for Today as Part of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign

URDA’s protection team continues its activities for the 16 days of activism campaign against gender-based violence. Today, the team delivered an awareness session at the protection center in Akkar, North Lebanon, which benefited 15 young Syrian and Lebanese women and girls. The campaign provided beneficiaries with information on the various types of power, as well as concepts of sexual exploitation and abuse, and an understanding of differences in the balance of power and its relationship to sexual exploitation and abuse and gender-based violence.

Today, not only did the activities include the awareness session, but also a training session on glass painting with trainer Malak Al-Hussein, which aimed to alleviate the psychological stress experienced by women beneficiaries.

The activity concluded with the distribution of 120 dignity kits to women to emphasize the importance of women’s protection at the health level and promoting their personal hygiene.
