So, what is it all about?
Every year, Muslims around the world gather to celebrate the 4-day Eid al-Adha which marks the end of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
Muslims celebrate two Eid occasions, Eid Al Adha and Eid Al Fitr. During the former Eid, they may invoke an act of Zakat and friendship through sacrificing a sheep and distributing its meat in 3 portions: among family, friends, and the poor.
Out of its belief in the importance of humanitarian work to achieve social solidarity and as a part of its efforts to bring happiness to the heart of as many people as possible this Eid, URDA has launched its “Act of Giving” campaign.
The campaign shall include the performing of Adha sacrifices and distributing them to impoverished Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian families throughout Lebanon. Last year, around 10,118 underprivileged families (50,500 individuals) benefited from our Eid campaign which also included the distribution of Eid clothing so that all children can celebrate this merry occasion with new outfits.
