Every one of us has their own joyful childhood memories that they recall every once and while, but what’s greater is seeing the smiles of 500 orphan and underprivileged kids who were able to celebrate this merry occasion like other kids.
Like every year, URDA holds its Eid carnivals to bring joy to the hearts of all children in Lebanon, mainly those coming from underprivileged communities. For those who do not know what Eid Al Fitr is, it is the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”. This occasion is a religious holiday celebrated by all Muslims around the world and marks the end of the Islamic holy month of fasting, also known as Ramadan.
The second day of Eid was a great success thanks to all URDA donor UC, staff, and volunteers; without them, this great event would not have been successful. On this day, several Eid carnivals were held by URDA and its partner for more than 3,000 Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian children in Aarsal, Beqaa and Akkar to celebrate this occasion. The carnivals drew more than 3,000 smiles that will forever be engraved in our memory!
URDA’s Eid carnival on the third day of Eid was supported and supervised by Africa Muslims Agency SA and attended by more than 500 Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian kids living in Lebanon.
Laughter, colorful balloons, games, and shows were all over the place spreading joy and creating some happy memories that those kids can keep, and our staff and volunteers can cherish.
Thanks to AMA and all donors from South Africa who made this event happen and allowed those kids to experience the joy of Eid this year.
