The shelter run by the Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA) in Saida was exposed to direct danger after a nearby building was targeted this afternoon at the Lebanese Kuwaiti School.

The explosion shattered the school’s windows, which shelters over a thousand displaced people, resulting in three injuries, including a young girl, from flying glass. The incident also caused widespread panic and fainting among the displaced families and volunteers.
URDA Executive Director Jihan Al-Kaisi confirmed that the emergency response teams continue their work at the shelter despite the risks, taking additional measures to enhance safety and provide psychosocial support to affected families, particularly children who were severely impacted by the incident.
