The relief sector at URDA tackles the threat of the Cholera outbreak

Since the moment the cholera outbreak was announced on the 6th of October 2022, URDA has expanded its scope of work to provide relief to the most vulnerable groups in Lebanon and assist them in securing safe water and managing sanitation by intensifying the activities of withdrawing stagnant water from the camps, in addition to promoting personal hygiene by providing hygiene rations. and awareness campaigns. In this context, and to limit the transmission of infection, the relief teams provided, during the month of November, hygiene rations for 700 families in Bekaa Valley, 600 of which were for the students of Al-Aman School. The submissions included 100 families in Arsal and another 100 families in the north. It is noteworthy that the number of confirmed cholera cases in Lebanon reached 655 cases, while the cumulative number, in addition to the suspected cases, reached 5029 cases.
