In order to meet the needs of the poor and underserved families during the winter season, and contribute to alleviating the financial burden on refugees, the Union of Relief and Development Associations (URDA), supported by British donors, has provided winter aid to 500 families in Akkar, Bekaa and Mount Lebanon.
The project included providing beneficiaries with basic winter supplies, including blankets and mattresses, as well as heating fuel and winter clothing.
One of the project’s beneficiaries explained the extent of families’ need for support, especially widows, orphans, and families that do not have a breadwinner, expressing concerns about the spread of COVID-19 among families in these difficult living conditions. He concluded by thanking URDA’s field team and extending his thanks and gratitude to the generous donors in the United Kingdom.
