URDA participated in the Local Actors Workshop – Future of Aid 2040, a forward-looking, face-to-face workshop held in Beirut and organized as part of the global Future of Aid 2040 initiative led by IARAN in collaboration with international and local partners.

The workshop brought together local organizations from Lebanon to contribute their perspectives on the future of humanitarian aid, with a strong focus on local leadership, resilience, and community-centered decision-making. This event marked the first step of Phase 2 of the Future of Aid 2040 project, which moves from foresight to action.
During the workshop, URDA actively engaged in discussions and group work aimed at:
– Mapping current value chains, competencies, and areas of impact for local organizations
– Testing existing operational models against future humanitarian scenarios
– Identifying key transformation needs to remain effective and relevant by 2040
– Co-creating pathways of transformation for an aid system that places crisis-affected people at the center

URDA’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening local capacities, contributing to global dialogue, and shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven humanitarian ecosystem for the future.
