URDA Visits Tripoli, North Lebanon

In his office at the Municipal Palace, The Mayor of Tripoli, Dr. Riad Yamak, received a delegation from the Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA), which included the North Branch manager, Abdul Rahman Darwish, and the Protection Supervisor in North Lebanon, Samah Karimeh, in addition to the Development Manager, Mustafa Abdo.

The discussion focused on coordination between the municipality and URDA regarding sheep and cow sacrifices during Eid al-Adha and the distribution of their meat to people in poor areas, as well as the cultivation of land in Tripoli in cooperation with the municipality, and providing assistance to the poor with the support of official and external charitable institutions.

Abdul Rahman Darwish spoke about ways of cooperation and coordination between the union and the municipality and URDA’s plan to provide food and meat portions, where the municipality provided Bab al-Tabbaneh Park as a supported place for distribution and discussed a number of development projects for Tripoli.

Samah Karimeh talked about the department’s plan to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and agreed to give joint awareness lectures. On the other hand, Mustapha Abdo also outlined “some projects that will be marketed to serve our people in Tripoli”.

“The municipality is ready to provide all the human and logistical resources to make this humanitarian work which aims to help people and try to heal their wounds a complete success.
