URDA’s relief and shelter sectors are preparing to welcome the winter season by providing in-kind and cash assistance to underserved Lebanese and refugee families in the most impoverished areas in Lebanon.
Over the past two days (November 18-19), URDA’s relief teams have distributed heaters to refugee families in Aarsal, a town that experiences a harsh climate conditions and extreme cold every year.
One volunteer in the relief sector explained that this year’s winter seems difficult for families who can barely manage their financial situations and secure their supplies in light of the continued increase in prices and low incomes, but the COVID-19 pandemic will make winter more difficult at a time when many people have lost their jobs and their wages have decreased.
