Field Visit to Promote Social Cohesion in Hasbaya and Marjeyoun Funded by the European Union 

The Union of Relief and Development Associations in Lebanon (URDA), in collaboration with ALEF Association, Weam Organization, and PASC, and with funding from the European Union (EU), organized a field visit to several religious landmarks in the Hasbaya and Marjeyoun areas. The activity involved twenty young men and women and aimed to foster a culture of coexistence and mutual understanding among diverse religious communities. 

The visit began at the Prophet Shuaib Shrine in the Fardis area, where participants were welcomed by Sheikh Wissam Sleika, Sheikh Bassam Sleika, Fardis Municipality Head Labeeb Sleika, and Mukhtar Kamil Nasr. The delegation then moved to Khiyam Village to visit the local Hussainiya, where they were received by Sheikh Baqir Abdullah, Mr. Youssef Zelzleh, and the village Mukhtar Hussein Qansou. 

The group continued their tour in Marjeyoun City with a visit to Our Lady of Salvation Church, welcomed by Father Hanna El-Khoury, before concluding the tour at the Marjeyoun Mosque with Sheikh Mohammad Hammoud. 

Throughout the visit, religious leaders delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of coexistence, acceptance of others, and dialogue among different religious communities, highlighting the role of such initiatives in strengthening social harmony and fostering connections among youth from diverse backgrounds.
