URDA’s team led a humanitarian delegation to the Arsal region, with Bishop Hanna Rahme, the Maronite Archbishop of Baalbek-Deir Al-Ahmar, at its helm. The delegation also included Member of Parliament Melhem Hajjri. This visit provided an opportunity to assess the situation of the local residents and to understand their needs. The delegation also conducted a brief tour of the refugee camps, with a particular focus on the stadium camp. The team engaged with the refugees, listened to their concerns, including issues such as power outages, difficulties in solar power installation, internet interruptions, and a shortage of material resources.
During the visit, the URDA team explained their humanitarian projects and specialized sectors directed to the area by the United Nations and relevant authorities.
This visit epitomizes the ongoing solidarity and support for those in need and refugees, reflecting the efforts of Bishop Hanna Rahme and the accompanying delegation in assisting the local residents in the face of the current crises affecting Lebanon.
