“URDA Distributes Meat Portions to More than 10,900 Families
Under the slogan “Adha: Giving Hope,” URDA has launched its 1442/2021 Adha project which aims at benefiting needy families in various Lebanese regions. Relief teams oversaw the distribution of meat shares from143 calves and 117 sheep on the first day of Eid where around 10,900 deprived Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian families have benefited from this project. Our relief teams in the field are ensuring full compliance with public safety requirements and strict preventive measures during the distribution process to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This annual project has arrived this year in the midst of a stifling economic and social crisis that has devastated needy families in Lebanon. This year, the number of targeted areas and beneficiary families.
As a contribution to boost the spirit of giving and hope, the sponsorship sector has provided clothes, toys and candies to children, especially orphans and children of low-income families, where 200 purchase vouchers in Saida and Akkarwere distributed to about 200 children.
More than 18 URDA partners including local and international humanitarian organizations are supporting this year’s Adha project to help the most deprived families in Lebanon, which has been reflected in the smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries, whose Eid this year has a different feel.
It is reported that URDA’s “Adha: Giving Hope” project will continue over the next three days, given the importance of humanitarian projects in bringing hope and giving to the most deprived families. The number of beneficiaries is expected to reach more than 162,000.
