After 3 years of actively being engaged in the Empowered Aid project the fruits of all of the members in this group that include Care and URDA in Lebanon, as well as World Vision and Rescue GWI and URDA have seen the light where Empowered Aid has launched its online course: Transforming Gender & Power Dynamics in the Delivery of Humanitarian Aid to mitigate risks of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
The course is based on three years of participatory action research with refugee women and girls in Uganda and Lebanon, with findings relevant to a variety of contexts and types of aid including food, shelter, WASH, fuel & firewood, and cash and voucher assistance. It shares Empowered Aid’s findings, recommendations, and participatory processes for listening to women and girls, and increasing their safety by putting their words into action.
Learners will progress through five self-paced modules that include interactive learning activities, case studies, and video interviews. Learners will also have the option to engage in peer-to-peer learning and exchange by joining live discussion groups facilitated by Empowered Aid team members, who will support them to apply the principles and tools they learn about to their everyday work.
